Have you not felt, as I do, that life no longer has a purpose and that nothing has a taste anymore?

People have suddenly become boring, even the content broadcast on the internet feels soulless. This is the feeling we will talk about today at Hope To Talk

It is a difficult sensation, one that I even feel while writing this article, or while working, or in life. I sometimes ask myself, "What is the point?"

If you share this feeling with me, then you are living through a difficult moment without realizing it.

You are now caught between an inner void, boredom, and deep sadness, but you do not realize the seriousness of the matter.

Let us pause here for a moment to understand how this silent feeling can destroy an entire life without warning.

A few months ago, I knew a young man who was full of vitality.

He had a very simple disagreement with his father, and suddenly, following this dispute, he chose to leave this life.

Why? Don't ask me why or how, because you surely know the reason.

He went through difficult pressures like all the people we hear about every day.

The truth is, they feel exactly what you feel, which is that "meaning" has been lost.

And when meaning is lost, existence becomes an unbearable burden. The only difference between him and us today is that we are discussing this topic before it reaches its peak.

First: What is the void of the soul and why am I afflicted by it?

Psychologists describe this feeling as a state of emotional numbness.

With it, a person feels like a stranger to people, in the wrong place, at the wrong time, and in an unsuitable life.

Even interests are no longer important. We live in a world that prioritizes money over the soul.

This material world has made us neglect our "inner compass."

When you stop asking yourself "Who am I?" and start asking "What do I own?", the void begins to consume you.

Signs that you are in a state of spiritual void:

  • You feel like you are playing a role in a play you are not part of.
  • You often ask, "What is the point of this?"
  • You browse through articles or videos quickly without a goal.
  • You feel lonely despite the success you offer.

If your answer is "Yes," then let us move forward to solve the problem.

Second: Where did the problem come from?

Before we solve any problem or offer any treatment, we must place our hands on the roots of the story and go back a little to know when it started and what the main reasons are:

1. Disconnection from the "True Self"

We spend our lives trying to please others, starting from parents, the manager, society, and even followers.

This is the first problem: to live without principle or to please others at the expense of yourself.

You wear the mask of the dutiful son, the obedient employee, and the smiling friend.

But at midnight, all these masks fall off, and you stay face-to-face with someone you don't recognize.

This disconnection makes the soul feel betrayed.

The deep sadness you feel is a reproach from your true self that you have neglected for years.

2. The increase of "Consumption" over "Giving"

In our world, we live as consumers of everything: food, drink, news, browsing.

We think these things fill the soul, but with time we discover that this is a lie.

Our world teaches us that happiness is in "taking," but the soul is never satisfied by consumption.

The more you buy or browse, the hungrier you get.

The soul is like a plant; it is only quenched by the rain of giving.

When you start doing something for others without expecting anything in return, those dark gaps inside you will automatically begin to fill with light.

3. Unresolved Psychological Trauma

The human mind is very clever.

When exposed to a shock like losing a friend, failure in a matter, or a harsh betrayal, it builds an "insulating wall" of emotional coldness so the body doesn't collapse.

This wall acts as a protective shield from shocks. It protects you from pain, yes, but it also prevents you from feeling joy.

With time, you find yourself in a state of "total void"—no sadness makes you cry, and no joy makes you happy.

Third: Steps to treat the void of the soul and restore meaning

The steps for treatment are not a push of a button or an experiment, but a path we will apply together in this article.

This path requires patience; it is not a quick recipe, but a journey of discovery.

Step One: Getting rid of the noise (Healing Silence)

We escape our inner void through noise. Therefore, the first step for treatment is "Silence." You must reconcile with yourself through silence.

Why do we run from silence? Because we are afraid of what we will hear from ourselves.

Silence is the "mirror." Dedicate 15 minutes daily without a phone, without music or anything—just you and your thoughts.

At first, it will be annoying or boring, but behind this annoyance, your soul begins to speak to you.

Dialogue with the self is the beginning of reconciliation.

Step Two: Searching for "Ikigai"

To find meaning for your life, you must look for the "reason for being," which is a Japanese concept.

To expand on this, you must draw your life circle based on four pillars:

  1. What you truly love: Hobbies that make you forget time.
  2. What you are good at: Your innate skills and talents.
  3. What the world needs from you: How your service can help someone else.
  4. What you can earn a living from: To ensure your sustainability.
  5. After these questions, you will find the point of connection with your inner self.
  6. When these circles meet, "meaning" is born.
  7. Look for just one thing that combines at least two of these, and you will feel that every morning has a new meaning.

Step Three: The Power of "Giving"

In the past, wise people described solutions for happiness by saying: if you want happiness for yourself, sleep; if you want happiness for your whole day, go fishing; but if you want to live happily your whole life, help others.

Giving is what fills the gaps of the soul in a magical way.

Try to comfort a broken person even with a word, or encourage a desperate one with an inspiring comment on the internet, or volunteer an hour of your time for charity.

See how they feel and how you feel; giving is the magnet that attracts meaning to your life.

Fourth: How do you protect yourself from a psychological relapse?

To avoid returning to that dark feeling again, you must build a routine that protects your soul:

  • Conscious Gratitude: Write every night 3 very simple things that happened in your day and you felt love toward (a cool breeze, a child's laugh, the safety of your body).

  • Be a part of life: The soul belongs to the earth, not to cement. Every day, walk among the trees or sit by the sea. Greenery and seas reset your psychological frequencies.

  • Inspirational Reading: Read biographies of people who faced hardships and triumphed. At our site, Hope To Talk, we try to provide you with hundreds of stories that remind you that you are not alone.

Fifth: When should you consult a specialist?

At Hope To Talk, we believe in the power of community support, but we also emphasize the importance of science. If you find that the spiritual void is accompanied by:

  • A desire to harm yourself.
  • Inability to get out of bed for consecutive days.
  • Severe loss of appetite or weight.

Here, you must see a specialized psychological therapist; mental health is not a luxury, it is your right.

Conclusion: The soul does not get sick; it goes out to rest

Always remember that your feeling of emptiness is not evidence that you are "broken," but rather evidence that inside you is "great energy" that has not yet found its correct path.

You are not just a number in this world; you are a story whose chapters are not yet complete, and a meaning waiting to be discovered.

Start today with one word, one conversation, or a simple act... and let us here at Hope To Talk be the listening ear that accompanies you on your journey back to life.
